If you don’t want to use the fuel anymore, know that electric motorcycles are as affordable as the fuel-powered motorcycles. That being said, get ready to be blown away with the jaw-dropping selection of the best electric motorcycles of 2023/2020.

1. Harley-Davidson Livewire

If you are a true motorcycle fan, there’s no chance you haven’t heard of Harley-Davidson Livewire. This brilliant motorcycle started as a concept that quickly attracted lots of motorcycle fans, although the hype quickly disappeared, due to no news from the manufacturer. But, after its release in August 2023, this motorcycle recaptured the attention from the community thanks to its elegant design, powerful, roaring engine, and of course, the brand name. Unlike previous Harley-Davidson iterations, Livewire arrived with a new sports look, due to more sharp edges, aerodynamic panels, and not-so-prominent mid-section.

When it comes to its speed, it can skyrocket from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds, thanks to the 15.5 kWh battery. You better hold it tight while it accelerates because you’ll feel like you’re riding a rocket! With a one-hour charge, you can drive up to 140 miles, making it well worth the cash.

2. Lightning Strike

If you’re a fan of Judas Priest, you’ve probably heard their neck-breaking song Lightning Strike. If you did, now it’s time to hear more about the motorcycle with the same name. For as little as $13,000 this electric motorcycle offers cutting-edge technology, being able to push up to 140 miles with a lightning-fast 35-minute charge. This statistic alone makes this motorcycle one of the best at this moment. With the battery capacity of 10 kWh, it’s not that impressive but once again, we need to look at the price. For example, this motorcycle cost double less of the price of Livewire, so it’s still decent.

Given the weight of 455 lbs, it’s not strange that this motorcycle can bet so fast. Although it didn’t become commercial, you can still pre-order it from the manufacturer’s website.

3. Tarform

Tarform is a lightweight beast that’s going to blow you away with its sleek, yet modern design. We can confidently say that this is one of the most beautiful motorcycles out there and much to our luck, it’s available on the market. To make things better, this motorcycle is completely customizable. For example, you can buy larger battery packs, faster charging, etc. The base version gives you a battery with a 9-kWh capacity that can go up to 90 miles per hour. However, the charging will last about four hours, which is much weaker than the other motorcycles on the list. If you don’t mind slow charging times, you’ll enjoy this bike’s looks, electronics, and ergonomics.

This motorcycle isn’t made for fast driving, thus the modest top speed and horsepower. Still, if you want an elegant motor for driving around town, Tarform is a great choice for you.

4. Energica Ego

Energica Ego is a beastly Italian electric motorcycle that looks and feels like a proper racer. First and foremost, it’s a superbike capable of an astounding top speed of 150 miles per hour, backed up by the solid 11.7 kWh battery or 145 horsepower. Given that this bike is made by F1 and Le Mans engineers, its quality is on the highest point. Once again, we must mention the blistering speed of this bike or better said, the acceleration, which lets this bike go from 0 to 60 in just three seconds!

As for the charging time, it’s not very impressive – 3.5 hours. But we must not forget the enormous power of this bike, hence the longer charging. We think that this isn’t a major red flag for the bike. If you want to feel the power, you must be patient, that’s how it works!

5. Lito Sora

Lito Sora is perhaps the most expensive electric motorcycle on our list. With its price of $82,000, you’ll scratch your head before buying it. On the design side, we have a unique aesthetics that are hard to see anywhere else. It’s a nice balance between sports and casual looks. While the top speed of 120 mph isn’t anything to brag about, the acceleration of 3 seconds from 0 to 60 makes up for it. Offering a 50% stronger battery than the predecessor, we have a capacity of 12 kWh which lets you drive as far as 120 miles – once again, a solid result.

If you don’t care about speed stats and want a beautiful, aesthetic, and unique motorcycle, this one is great for you. Those speed addicts probably won’t like Lito Sora.

6. Vespa Elettrica

Vespa Elettrica is a motorcycle for those who don’t want a roaring engine with three-digit horsepower. If you know a thing or two about motorcycles, you know that Vespa isn’t a monster but rather an elegant city bike for a casual drive or as many call it, a scooter. For a scooter, a range of 62 miles is more than okay, accompanied by an electric motor of 4 kWh. However, given the recharge speed of 4 hours, it’s not as fast as the almighty Harley-Davidson, although it costs four times less.

If you’re ready to get into the world of electric vehicles, this should be your springboard. We’ve mentioned some cheap motorcycles for beginners, and those who want to ravage the roads can also buy the more expensive ones. Either way, by using electric vehicles, you reduce the toxic gas emission, which does our planet a favor, so the choice is yours. One is sure – you’ll enjoy your new electric motorcycle more than anything you’ve ever driven.
